Accused Texas Cop-Killer Arrested in Mexico After International Manhunt

HOUSTON, Texas — An international manhunt led to the arrest of the man accused in the “savage execution” of a Harris County Constable’s deputy on Sunday morning. U.S. and Mexican law enforcement made the arrest in Mexico just across the border with Texas.

Migrant Apprehensions in December Jump 139 Percent over Prior Year

The apprehension of migrants in December along the southwest border with Mexico jumped for the second straight month to 170,186, federal officials reported on Monday. This represents an increase of more than 139 percent over the same month in 2021.

Smugglers Pack Migrant Children, Adults in Locked Trailer near Border in Texas

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested three human smugglers and apprehended two groups of migrants locked inside commercial trailers. The arrests took place at the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint in Brooks County, Texas, approximately 80 miles north of the Texas-Mexico border.

Del Rio Sector Becoming Busiest for Illegal Border Crossings, Says Chief

A massive migrant surge in the Del Rio Sector is threatening to make this the busiest of the nine southwest Border Patrol sectors, according to Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens. With approximately 4,000 apprehended over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend and nearly 1,000 more on Tuesday, the Del Rio Sector is leading the Rio Grande Valley Sector for January apprehensions.

33 Migrants Arrested by Texas Troopers on Ranch near Border

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers assigned to border security duty arrested 33 migrants on state charges of criminal trespass. The troopers, assigned to Operation Lone Star, arrested the migrants on private ranches near the Texas-Mexico border.

30 Migrants Found in Truck, 20 More in Texas Motel near Border

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents found a group of nearly 30 migrants hiding in the sleeping compartment of a commercial tractor. Agents and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers also teamed up to apprehend more than 20 migrants being warehoused in motel rooms.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents rescued a group of migrants who became lost in the Huachuca Mountains near the Arizona border with Mexico. Agents found one of the migrants, a woman, to be severely dehydrated and had to carry her out of danger.
