24 Migrants Rescued in California, Texas Border Sectors over Weekend

Border Patrol agents at opposite ends of the country rescued at least 24 migrants who became injured or distressed after illegally crossing from Mexico. Some sustained injuries while others fell prey to the increasing summer heat along the U.S.-Mexico Border.

Texas Power Grid Operator Struggles to Provide Power in Heat, Just As It Did in Cold

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) called for Texans to conserve electricity on Monday afternoon.  For the second time this year, the council blamed “a significant number of forced generation outages” and record demand for the “tight grid conditions” that are expected to last until Friday, June 18.

Two Migrants Found Dead in Arizona Desert near Border

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents recovered the bodies of two migrants who succumbed to the heat of the Arizona desert after being smuggled across the border from Mexico. One of the migrants died this week, while the second had been dead for two weeks.
