Appeals Court Upholds Texas Law Fighting Big Tech Censorship

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected a Big Tech umbrella group’s efforts to block House Bill 20, a law passed by the Republican-controlled State of Texas that prohibits political censorship by large social media platforms, in a major win for online freedom campaigners.

Study: Red States Were Right – Schools That Stayed In-Person Didn’t Lose Academic Ground

A report issued by a team of researchers from institutions including Harvard University found that economic and racial learning gaps in states such as Texas and Florida did not widen due to schools largely maintaining in-person classes during the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. Harvard Professor Thomas Kane explains: “Where schools remained in-person, gaps did not widen. Where schools shifted to remote learning, gaps widened sharply. Shifting to remote instruction was like turning a switch on a critical piece of our social infrastructure that we had taken for granted.”

Search Resumes for Texas Guardsman Missing in Border River

EAGLE PASS, Texas — The search for a missing Texas Army National Guard soldier last seen entering the Rio Grande to rescue a migrant north of Eagle Pass on Friday resumed on Saturday morning. An extensive search involving a Border Patrol dive team and other law enforcement resources was suspended late Friday.

A group of 26 Republican governors joined forces to address the chaotic border policies of the Biden administration that led to an unprecedented crisis along the U.S. border with Mexico. Abbott Should Coordinate with Feds Before Busing Migrants to DC, Says CBP

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Chris Magnus says the governor of Texas should coordinate with the federal government before busing migrants to Washington, D.C. His remarks follow an order from Governor Greg Abbott to provide buses to take willing migrants already released by federal agencies and transport them to the nation’s capital.

Texas officials report the Biden administration stopped dropping off released migrants in many cities across the state following Governor Greg Abbott’s order to start busing them to Washington, D.C. From the Texas Panhandle to the Rio Grande Valley, Texas city officials sent the State requests for assistance in offering bus transportation for any released migrants who voluntarily want to catch a ride to the nation’s capital.

Gov. Abbott: Texas Military to Begin Mass Migration Response Drills

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Military Department to begin mass migration response rehearsals along the state’s border with Mexico. The order comes in response to the Biden Administration’s plans to cancel the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol, which is expected to drive the already record-setting number of 8,000 migrants to more than 18,000 a day, per a federal estimate.
