As the Biden Administration announces it will cancel all remaining border wall projects in South Texas, the State of Texas is pushing toward with completion of its own border barriers at a rapid pace. This border wall project, funded by the State of Texas, is Governor Greg Abbott’s answer to the migrant crisis facing his state.

MISSION, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott joins nine Republican governors along the Rio Grande border with Mexico following a briefing by state officials and the National Border Patrol Council. The state executives are gathering at what has become “ground-zero” for the massive surge of migrants illegally crossing the border following President Joe Biden’s changes in immigration and border security policies in January.

DEL RIO, Texas — Photos and video show the massive effort being executed by the State of Texas to stop or reduce the record-setting border crossings taking place in the Del Rio Border Patrol Sector. The sector rose to the second busiest along the southern border in recent months and garnered national attention.

Texas Forms Miles-Long Border Barrier from State Troopers and National Guard Vehicles

DEL RIO, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Department of Public Safety and National Guard to use vehicles to create a miles-long barrier to stop the flow of mostly Haitian migrants from crossing the Rio Grande. The vehicle barrier, along with the recently constructed Texas border fencing, effectively blocked the illegal crossings and enabled Border Patrol officials to reduce the population of the Del Rio migrant encampment.
