Chinese Factory Manager: ‘There Are No Human Rights in Xinjiang’

Human-rights watchdog Bitter Winter published an interview Sunday with a garment factory manager in China’s Xinjiang province who said the thousand or so Uyghur Muslims who work for his operation are used as slave laborers, despite the regime’s assurances that work programs in the province are a benefit to local participants.

Donald Trump Ends Special Trade Status for Hong Kong

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday he will end the special trade preferences granted to Hong Kong because the island is no longer truly “autonomous” after Communist China imposed an oppressive security law at the beginning of July.

McCaul on Trump Executive Orders: ‘You’re Going to See Sanctions Against the Chinese Communist Party’

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Evening Edit,” House Foreign Affairs Committee ranking member Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) predicted that President Trump’s promised executive orders on China will include an executive order to implement the sanctions against the Chinese Communist Party for their actions in Hong Kong that were passed by the Congress last week and stated that the United States has no choice “but to issue the sanctions” against the CCP since Hong Kong can no longer be certified as autonomous anymore, “and it’s one country, one system, and that’s the Chinese Communist Party.”

Pompeo Announces End of Obama-Era Iran Sanctions Waivers

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday announced he is “ending the sanctions waiver for JCPOA-related projects in Iran, effective in 60 days.” JCPOA stands for Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the formal name of the nuclear deal struck by former President Barack Obama.

U.S. Navy Seizes Cache of Iranian Weapons Bound for Yemen

The USS Normandy, a Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser, intercepted a small sailing vessel in the Arabian Sea over the weekend and found it loaded with Iranian weapons bound for the Houthi rebels in Yemen. The weapons included 150 anti-tank missiles and three surface-to-air missiles, plus a supply of components useful for maintaining unmanned aerial vehicles.
