UAE Agrees to Manufacture Chinese-Made Coronavirus Vaccine

China’s state-run propaganda outlet Global Times on Tuesday trumpeted a number of diplomatic breakthroughs between China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that sprung from Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s ongoing tour of the Middle East, including deal between Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm and Group 42, an Emirati firm, to produce Chinese coronavirus vaccines in the UAE.

Russia, China Want U.N. Security Council Meeting to Contain America

Russia and China issued a joint statement Tuesday calling for a summit of the permanent members of the U.N. Security Council. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi gave an interview to Chinese state television Saturday in which he credited the authoritarian rule of the Communist Party with defeating the coronavirus pandemic and celebrated the incoming Biden administration in America as a “new window of hope” for relations between the U.S. and China.
